Planewardens: Legacy of The Gatewatch

Planewardens OTK

"Never again. For the sake of the Multiverse, I will keep watch."

A great threat has emerged from the depths of the Void that now grasps at the Multiverse. Like a silent shadow it seeps into the Planes, corrupting them one by one through it's evil agents and their dark schemes. Unknown but not unnoticed for as it acts, so do we.

A deal has been struck with the Lady of Pain and we are free to call Sigil our new home. As the nexus of the Planes it is perfect for our new headquarters. The Realmgate will soon be operational and the first Wardens, special individuals hand picked from many worlds across many realms, have already taken the Oath. The enterprise we started out of fear is now driven by hope and soon we will venture out into the Multiverse and face the enemy wherever it may hide.

We are the Planewardens, and we will keep watch.

Overview

Planewardens: Legacy of the Gatewatch is a D&D 5e open table campaign set in a high magic medieval fantasy setting where players take on the roles of Planewardens, agents tasked with combating threats across the multiverse by means of a Realmgate, a Stargate inspired machine that can take them to many established settings in the D&D universe such as Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Eberron, Planescape, Exandria, Dragonlance, Ravnica and more. From their HQ compound based in Planescape's city of Sigil they will embark on one session long missions to reveal and thwart the plots of a shadowy organization that threatens to destroy the very fabric of the multiverse. On their adventures players will acquire information, resources, treasures and allies that will help them expose the enemy and ultimately defeat it.

Pick your Realm

Before each session the players will decide which mission they want to undertake with each mission representing a plot hook set in a different realm. As the campaign progresses new realms will open up and discoveries made by one party can reveal new leads and missions for others to take on.

Misc Stuff

The campaign is open to both players and guest DMs who wish to run sessions. Players are not obligated to attend all sessions and can join the campaign periodically but attendance for each individual session is on first registered, first served basis. Sessions will be held in Croatian or with advance notice, in English in case of players from outer realms that wish to participate. Players can use pregenerated characters provided by the DM but are encouraged to create their own! The following guidelines must be adhered to when creating your own character:

  • Standard array for Abilities
  • Character level is set to level 9
  • Feats are allowed.
  • Allowed sources for player options are: Players Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Eberron: Rising from the Last War, Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica, WoTC Planeshift splatbooks.

On the session players should bring: their character sheet (optional), at least one set of gaming dice, something to write, good mood and proper player etiquette.

Safety

The overall tone of the campaign is light and while some characters may perish by gruesome death, no players will be harmed during play. Safety tools will be agreed upon before the start of the session but will be implemented.
